Another no paper required drawing.
Again, how did I do?

We Can Be Heroes, Right?

Friday, 16 May 2014

Two super-powered beings,
just before they go do their super-powered things:

I celebration of their new Comics Unmasked exhibition, the British Library teamed up with Arts Thread to host a comics competition. This is my entry, taking on the theme 'We Can Be Heroes'

Cos those two, they're the good guys... right? I'm not sure either.

Stuck in the Sound: Let's Go!

Wednesday, 9 April 2014

The best music video I saw last year, came out the year before; Slow, bro I know.
It stars this delightfully scowling astronaut. He pretty much single-handedly
got the band Stuck in the Sound on my radar, and for that, I thank him.

You'll want to watch this video, it's certainly worth it,
from an animation and musical standpoint:

What Doesn't Kill You...

Friday, 4 April 2014

A couple of ink sketches of a couple more bikers,
thought it would be nice to put them together.
I might just turn this into some kind of print, what do you think?

I think this may have happened because I can't pull off leather jackets.
Or patches.

Trainers

Wednesday, 2 April 2014

But hey, I'm not the only one, as Google proved yesterday for April Fools.
The other day I was rooting around some of my past sketches, and found a bunch of drawings of Pokemon trainer protagonist heads. I didn't want them to go to waste, so I drew the characters I'd missed and spruced them up digitally.

I couldn't remember why I had drawn them in the first place, so I turned them into this neat repeat pattern. I didn't know what to do with the pattern, so whilst I mull that over here it is.
It currently makes a good front page for my website too.

Just sayin.

Pour Cyclist

Thursday, 27 March 2014

You are looking at a rather dramatic (and gif'd up) scene from a story of romance,
self discovery and vehicular coming of age.

It's over guys. Last month saw the end of my cycling comic strip!
In case you missed it, you can read the whole thing on Cycle Camden's Facebook page.
So if you're still wondering what happened to this poor chap, and if things gets better for him,
what are you still doing here? GO READ IT!

David Byrne & St Vincent: Love This Giant

Friday, 21 March 2014

At the end of 2012, two of my favourite artists got together and released an album.
David Byrne & St Vincent:

You should give them a listen,
they've put together the best use of brass instruments I've heard in a while.
I can't help but feel like dancing when I listen to this record,
a cliché at best, but the truth, you might feel it too.

Unfortunately I didn't manage to see them when they went on tour in the UK late last year,
and that's something I'm still coming to terms with!

Lend them your ears, whilst I go and dream about them making a second record together:

On a related note, there's a chance you've seen St. Vincent's face pop up everywhere recently, and quite rightly so, her new self titled album is quite fantastic, theres a chance I'll talk about that another time.

Byker Biker

Tuesday, 18 March 2014

Did a fully digital test the other day, so I though I'd share it.

Everything I do usually requires me to at least sketch on paper first,
but not this time. Straight to the tablet.

How did I do?
